2025 December – District Trainer
We have a lot going on this year in terms of providing education for our busy D5330 Rotarians! As we begin our remaining 6 months of the current Rotary year, starting in just a few short weeks, I’d like to report on some upcoming events that may be of interest to you.
The date for DGE Richard Lemire’s Pre-P.E.L.S. (Presidents-Elect Learning Session, changed from the acronym P.E.T.S.) will be January 31st at Crafton Hills College. This is for ALL incoming club presidents! That is also the same date and location for DG Nyron’s Mid-Term Review for ALL current club presidents. We have planned for many district chairs to update us on what has been happening in D5330 as well as informing us of what to look forward to in the coming months. Palm Desert Rotarian, Carol Winston is chairing this event.
Then, between February 19-22, all incoming club presidents will be attending P.E.L.S. at the LAX Marriott. The weekend will be amazing. There will be more than 900 PEs from 11 districts from 7 states! The P.E.L.S. Committee has planned a welcoming dinner on Thursday evening, and then on Friday we will begin conducting the Elective and Core courses for the PEs. DGE Richard will have 3 breakout sessions that weekend for all of his presidents, as well. You will hear many significant keynote addresses by well-known speakers, culminating in the Sunday brunch that will feature PDG Michael Angelo Caruso, a very colorful and inspirational speaker. So, to ALL PEs, sign up now on DACdb if you haven’t already done so!
Then, on Saturday, April 11, from 8 AM until 2 PM, you will again have the opportunity to learn even more about Rotary at our annual District Training Assembly, chaired by Palm Desert Rotarian, Maryalice Alberg Owings. We will have 4, 45- blocks of specific sessions totaling more than 40 learning opportunities. The event will again be held at the Tahquitz High School in Hemet. More information will be forthcoming!
PDG Rudy Westervelt continues to work diligently to provide quarterly meetings of the Rotary Leadership Institute at the Presbyterian Church in Beaumont.
In addition to all this, PDG Marilyn Sanderson, the chair of the district’s Educational Committee has been scheduling timely educational sessions on ZOOM throughout the Rotary year on all things Rotary, and will continue to do so for the next 6+ months to come.
We area all very excited for your participation in these educational events!
