Club Recognition & Awards
The work your club does matters. Through the District 5330 Governor’s District Awards and the RI Club Excellence Award (formerly the Rotary Citation), clubs are recognized for their impact, member engagement, service, leadership, and commitment to Rotary’s mission.
🔒 Both awards are tracked in Rotary Club Central, inside My Rotary. You’ll need a free My Rotary account and must be signed in — then open it from Knowledge & Resources → Rotary Tools → Rotary Club Central. Full steps are below.
Two separate awards, one tool
There are two different recognitions on this page. Both draw on the goals your club tracks in Rotary Club Central, but they come from different places and are decided in different ways.
Governor’s District Awards
Our district’s own recognition
District-level honors chosen by the District Governor and leadership team. They recognize clubs for exceptional service, membership growth, Foundation support, youth programs, leadership, and overall impact. The district decides who receives them.
RI Club Excellence Award
formerly the Rotary Citation
Rotary International’s official recognition for clubs that achieve their goals in Rotary Club Central. It is not competitive and is not chosen by the district — every club that meets the requirements earns it. The award is an electronic certificate issued by RI.
A club can earn the District award, the RI award, both, or neither — they’re separate programs that both rely on keeping your Rotary Club Central goals up to date.

Governor’s District Awards

They honor clubs that demonstrate excellence in service, membership engagement, leadership, innovation, and community impact — while supporting Rotary International’s Action Plan and the District 5330 Strategic Plan.
