Youth Service recognizes the positive change implemented by youth and young adults through leadership development, service projects, and exchange programs. District 5330 sponsors EarlyAct and Interact clubs across our schools, runs the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) and Personal Rotary Youth Development Experience (PRYDE) camps each year, hosts inbound and outbound Youth Exchange students, and stages the annual 4-Way Test Speech Contest.
From elementary classrooms to college campuses to weekend camps in the mountains — District 5330 invests in young leaders at every stage.
Ages 5–13
EarlyAct
EarlyAct clubs introduce elementary and middle school students to service, leadership, and the values of Rotary. Sponsored by local Rotary clubs, EarlyAct gives students their first hands-on experience giving back to their school and community.
Interact is Rotary’s service club for middle and high school students. Members organize community and international service projects, develop leadership skills, and have fun building friendships across schools throughout District 5330.
The Personal Rotary Youth Development Experience is a weekend leadership camp at Thousand Pines for 7th graders across our two counties. Students leave more confident, more connected, and ready to lead with character, empathy, and service.
Rotary Youth Leadership Awards brings 450+ high school students to Idyllwild Pines for a transformative weekend. RYLA helps students discover who they are, how they connect with others, and the kind of leader they want to become.
Rotary Youth Exchange sends high school students abroad to live with host families and study in another country — and welcomes inbound students from around the world to District 5330. It’s a life-changing experience in cultural understanding and global friendship.
Each year, high school students throughout District 5330 compete in the 4-Way Test Speech Contest, delivering original speeches grounded in Rotary’s Four-Way Test. Club, area, and district rounds culminate in cash scholarships for the top finishers.
Every Rotarian who works with youth in District 5330 completes Youth Protection training and certification. Our policies, forms, and resources keep students safe across every youth program.
Students grow from young service-minded learners into confident leaders who continue serving their schools, communities, and the world.
