Rotary Day at Galway

A Day of Celebration, Service & Fellowship

District 5330 came together for Rotary Day at Galway — a day of celebration, service, and fellowship that brought Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors, and community members together under one big sky. Familiar smiling faces and new friends alike gathered to celebrate a remarkable year of service and to honor the people who made it happen.

Service in Action

One of the most joyful moments of the day came from the district’s youngest leaders. Nearly 200 Interact students assembled wellness bags for The Rose Again Foundation, Oak Grove Center for Education and the Arts, and Voices for Children — their enthusiasm and compassion a powerful reminder of the future of Rotary.

Celebrating Our Clubs

The celebration also honored the clubs and individuals whose service shaped the year. While it’s impossible to fully capture the impact of all 59 clubs across the district, the day offered a meaningful glimpse into that incredible work — and a chance to recognize the people behind it. Congratulations to every award recipient.

With Gratitude

Rotary Day at Galway was the work of a remarkable committee. Heartfelt thanks to Maryalice for leading the charge — first to arrive and last to leave — and to Carol, whose work as emcee and countless hours of preparation kept the day running as smoothly as silk. Thanks, too, to Jackie Chatman, Kevin Willis, Ana Flores, and the entire Interact Conference team for creating a day the students will remember for years to come. The district was especially honored to welcome Rotary International Trustee Vicki Puliz, whose message, participation, and mentorship meant so much to all in attendance.

Passing the Torch

The day closed with one of Rotary’s most meaningful traditions. District Governor Judy Zulfiqar passed the torch — and, in true District 5330 fashion, the shoe! — to incoming District Governor Nyron McLean, who steps into the year ahead with energy, vision, and a steadfast commitment to the district’s clubs and members, to transparency and integrity, and to the spirit of the Four-Way Test.

It was a beautiful day filled with connection, celebration, and a sense of purpose — the kind of day that lives long in the memory.
